Is every penis built the same way?

Table of contents

Every penis is different. This is not only reflected in the size, appearance and shape. The inner workings can also differ. The basic anatomy of the penis is always the same if it is healthy and shows no pathological changes. However, there are some differences in detail, especially in the tunica albuginea, which could be important for manual penis enlargement.

The tunica albuginea explained

The tunica albuginea is an elastic fascia that surrounds the three erectile tissues of the penis. It consists of connective tissue and can expand when the penis fills with blood. If the blood flows out of the erectile tissue after an erection, the tunica albuginea contracts again. The function of the tunica albuginea is to compress the corpora cavernosa during an erection and give the penis its typical elongated shape. An elongated shape of the penis is created by the longitudinal fibers of the longitudinal tunica layer. The tunica limits the corpora cavernosa in its extension to the front and to the outside. It is therefore the limiting factor for the maximum erect penis length and the maximum erect penis girth.

To put it simply, you can imagine it like a balloon that expands when filled with air and contracts again when the air is released. If you want to know more about the exact structure of the tunica albuginea and its function, take a look at this video (02. Manual penis enlargement). There we have explained everything about the tunica in great detail.

The picture shows an erect penis and an enlarged cross-section of the penis shaft. The cross-section shows the two cavernous bodies of the penis, the tunica albuginea of the cavernous body of the penis, the urethral cavernous body and the tunica albuginea of the urethral cavernous body with arrows and the respective labeling.

Study on the number of tunica layers published

The aim of the study was to find out what role the tunica albuginea plays in the erection mechanism. To this end, the penises of 28 deceased people of all ages were cut open and examined. It was found that the tunica albuginea consisted of two layers in more than two thirds of those examined. An inner circular and an outer longitudinal layer. In the circular layer, the fibers run in a circle around the penis. In the longitudinal layer, the fibers run lengthwise around the erectile tissue. Additionaly to the aforementioned layers, around 20% of the penises examined had an additional circular layer, which was located above the longitudinal layer. These penises therefore had three tunica layers. In contrast, around 10 % had only a single longitudinal tunica layer.

The researchers suspected an advantage in the erection mechanism behind the multi-layered tunica, as more layers could exert a stronger counter-pressure on the erectile tissue, which could lead to a harder erection. However, this theory has not been proven.

Three cross-sections of the penile corpus cavernosum and the urethral corpus cavernosum with the associated tunica albugineae are shown. In addition, the two penile cavernous bodies, the longitudinal and the circular tunica layer are each shown with separate images. The image is intended to illustrate how one can imagine the different number of tunica layers of the penile erectile tissue in the penises examined. In other words, the differences between a single-layered, double-layered or triple-layered tunica albuginea.
Illustration of penises with one, two or three tunica layers. The different number of tunica layers always refers to the tunica albuginea of the two corpora cavernosa, as differences could only be detected in this. While the tunica albuginea of the corpus spongiosum always consists of only a single layer in all men.

The tunica theory

In the manual penis enlargement community, various theories circulate when it comes to explaining and understanding how manual penis enlargement works and why it works. One of the best-known theories is the “tunica theory”. This theory states that the tunica albuginea is the limiting factor for successful penis enlargement. After all, a maximally expanded tunica prevents the erectile tissue from expanding further outwards and forwards. And the further the erectile tissue can expand, the larger the penis. The aim of the tunica theory advocates is therefore to overstretch the tunica albuginea through targeted exercises so that it adapts to this overload over time by becoming larger. This in turn leads to the erectile tissue being able to expand further. As a result, the erect penis becomes larger over time.

We at SIZE FOR YOU© also subscribe to this theory and have geared our SIZE FOR YOU© penis enlargement course precisely towards enlarging the tunica albuginea.

Number of tunica layers could have an influence on penis enlargement

If we assume that the tunica albuginea is the biggest obstacle to successful penis enlargement, a man with 2 or 3 tunica layers should have a much harder time successfully enlarging his penis than a man with only a single-layer tunica. This is because the more layers there are, the more robustly they prevent the erectile tissue from expanding. At least in theory. This could be particularly noticeable when it comes to enlarging the circumference of the penis. Because the circular layers run in a circle around the erectile tissue and also prevent it from expanding outwards.

This assumption could also explain why some men report extremely fast and large increases. In other words, they are so-called fast-gainers. While others need a lot of time and patience to achieve smaller increases in penis size. This would also explain the phenomenon observed in practice that not everyone gets the same results with the same training. So there is no universal training that is effective for every man. The number of tunica layers could be the decisive reason for this.

Does this mean that men with 3 tunica layers cannot enlarge their penis?

No, it definitely does not mean that. Men with three tunica layers can also successfully enlarge their penis. You just need to know how. The key to success is individual training tailored to your own penis. Or to put it simply, find out what kind of training your penis needs to grow. And we have created the SIZE FOR YOU© penis enlargement course especially for this purpose. It enables every man to find his individual effective training that makes his penis grow. Men with 3 tunica layers are unlikely to achieve growth quite as quickly as men with just one layer. Penis enlargement is still possible for every man if he understands how his penis reacts to different stresses and what it needs to grow.

Conclusion

The aforementioned study has scientifically proven that penises differ according to the number of tunica layers. Most men probably have two tunica layers. One inner circular and one outer longitudinal. If the tunica theory of penis enlargement is correct, the number of tunica layers could be the decisive factor in which training you respond to and how quickly you can expect your penis to enlarge.

But even then, there’s a big catch to the whole thing. You can’t currently find out how many layers your tunica has. According to current medical possibilities, this only works if the penis is cut open. And you probably don’t want that. So we men are left with the tried-and-tested trial-and-error method of finding out how the training needs to be individually designed to stimulate the penis to grow.
